Do you know what your limits are?

Have you ever even tried to see how far you can push yourself beyond your limits?

So what’s stopping you?

So many people fail to reach their true potential for the simple fact that:

a. They are afraid to test their limitations

b. They listen to other people who are afraid to test their own limitations

Fear is only an illusion.

If you would only just stop being afraid to push yourself a little bit harder, go a little bit farther and believe in yourself a little bit more, you would figure out that you can do much more than you ever imagined.

The key is to stop believing in the impossible and start believing that whatever you set your mind to is possible.

You see, it’s only a belief.

Whether you can or you can’t all comes down to what you believe in.

Pessimism never got anyone anywhere.

And reality is whatever you believe it to be… there I go with “belief” again.

So what are you going to believe in today?

Are you going to believe that you can conquer that mountain that lies ahead of you?

Are you going to believe that you can soar high above any “impossibility” that you have set for yourself?

Take the time today to re-evaluate just exactly who you are. Know that you are someone who can do a lot more that you ever thought you could.

And then make it a promise you yourself to get out there and take that winding road down into the impossible. It may seem a little scary at first but after you get going, you’ll stop and ask yourself why you never believed you could do it in the first place.

Remember, the only limits are the ones that you create for yourself.

You have greatness inside of you. Now go and discover it!

Would you keep going after number 10?

Most people wouldn’t.

I know this for a fact because of the number of clients that I have worked with over the years. I see this especially with people who want to lose weight.

It’s human nature to quit.

After only 2 weeks of being on a strict eating regimen and training program, most people will opt to quit after not seeing the miraculous results that they want.

It takes years of hard work and 100% total commitment; not weeks.

This is true for business and Life.

Be prepared for the biggest test of dedication, determination and discipline. It takes most small business startups two solid years to get up and running and pulling some profit.

So you want to work from home?

Let’s take internet marketing for example.

98% of people fail at internet marketing for one reason only: Because they QUIT!

After about 6 months of not making any money, most people throw in the towel. I’ll let you in on a BIG secret here. It takes a lot more than 6 months to make it happen.

It took me 2 years before I started making money online.

TWO YEARS!

That’s 2 years of working at something and NEVER getting a dime for my efforts. And I think of how many people quit after only 2 months…

Please, don’t expect anything out of Life until you put in the work.

I love the way Earn Nightingale summed this up in Lead the Field when he said:

It’s like telling the furnace: “First give me heat and then I’ll give you some wood.”

First you put in the work and then, AND ONLY THEN, you will see the results.

And when you don’t see the results that you anticipated overnight, or you have failed once again at your attempt, you must persevere.

Perseverance is what separates the people who make it to the top from the ones who don’t. It separates the challenger from the Champion.

There’s going to be struggles and adversity that you are going to face in your journey no matter what.

Obstacles are inevitable.

But it’s your ability to keep on going when the going gets tough that will ultimately get you to where you want to go.

How many times have you given up after failing to achieve your dreams?

Once?

Twice?

You must be willing to fail and keep on going 10,000 times or more if you are committed to achieving your goal, no matter what it is.

So the lesson is this: no matter how tough the going gets, THE TOUGH KEEP ON GOING.

Edison was tough.

And so is Trump.

Now the question is… Are you?

Excellence is a habit, not one of those things you only do once in a while.

A habit?

Absolutely.

Habits are the LITTLE things you do every day that make a BIG difference in your life; good or bad.

Habits essentially make you who you are, what you are and take you where you are.

Yes, we are what we repeatedly do, not what we repeatedly say. Actions always speak a whole heck of a lot louder than words.

So in order to change the course of your life, you must simply change your habits.

If you want to lose weight, change your eating and exercise habits.

If you want to make more money, change your productivity, time management and learning habits.

If you want to find a happy and meaningful relationship, change your dating habits.

Want to achieve anything you want in life?

Then there’s one habit that you must create: the habit of EXCELLENCE.

That’s right, in order to live up to your true potential you must create the habit of excellence. This means that you must do EVERYTHING with excellence.

Eat, sleep, play and pray with excellence.

Create the habit of doing everything to the very BEST of your ability; even if it’s something that you don’t like to do. This is a very important quality that separates the winners from the losers.

So where does the habit of excellence start?

Right in your mind.

You first need to start thinking excellence before you can start acting excellence. So start today by thinking thoughts of excellence and watch these thoughts slowly transform into your daily actions. And once you keep repeating these actions day in and day out, they will slowly transform into your habits.

And before you know it, you have cultivated the habit of excellence.

And what does that equate to?

Anything you want in life!

Wait a minute, I know what it is: You’re not ready yet.

You’re waiting until everything in your life is perfect before you set out on your journey.

Well let me tell you; it’s not going to happen!

Things in life don’t happen by chances, they happen by choices.

It’s the choices that you make at every second of every day that determines your future. So whatever you are choosing to do right now will affect what will happen next in your life.

Do your choices = Success?

Or

Do your choices = Failure?

Success = Making the choice to take risks by seizing opportunities.

And let me tell you a thing or two about opportunities: Opportunities are never going to come to you unless you make them.

You must make the choice every single day to create opportunities through your actions and then seize them when they show up in your life.

Remember the words of Luke in 11:9:

“So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; Seek and you will find; Knock and the door will be opened to you.”

And if you are not sure exactly what you need to do to get started then at least start here: make the call, send the email, do the research, ask for help, post on Facebook, Tweet, Blog; whatever you have to do to get your message out to the Universe.

Once you make the choice to start creating your own opportunities right at the present moment, you will find yourself achieving things that you never thought possible.

Well, maybe things don’t always go according to plans more often then sometimes. That’s the way that my life goes anyway.

I never planned on rupturing a disc in my back when I was 20, which literally changed my life forever.

I never planned on losing 2 jobs in one day when I was 22 either.

I also never planned on getting ripped off thousands of dollars by some sly sons of guns  for freelance graphic design work that they never paid for, which put me in debt as a result. Ya, that was my salary at the time.

Maybe you’ve experienced some setbacks that have impacted your life in a great way.

Then again, maybe not.

If that’s the case then more power to you.

For the rest of us, we must adapt. Adaptation to circumstances is a prerequisite to becoming successful in any endeavor.

You must become a chameleon.

The severe back injury when I was 20 gave me the opportunity to grow into the person that I am today. It was a gift. It made me stronger that I ever could imagine and has blessed me with the knowledge and ability to help others overcome their daily struggles and defeat.

All because I adapted.

I’ll say it again, I am blessed.

Losing 2 jobs in one day was also a blessing. At that time in my life, before I became an entrepreneur, I needed some direction and needed a BIG change. This gave me the opportunity to do a lot of soul searching and self introspection. It also gave me the time to go stay with my older sister in NYC for a while which was a great experience that I wouldn’t have been able to do otherwise.

Once again, I adapted and moved on.

This was only a stepping stone in the mountain of Life that I am conquering.

And the last example made me much, much wiser. I had to rethink the way I conducted business and started operating in a different manner. Freelance work wasn’t my cup of tea anyway. I moved on to BIGGER and much BETTER things since.

In each situation, I adapted to the circumstances and I won.

Are you struggling to adapt to either a small setback or major change in your life?

If someone beats you to the punch by rolling out the same idea for a product that you have been working on for the past 5 years what are you going to do?

Sit around and cry about it?

That’s an option only for the weak.

It is only the strong that survive.

Adaptation takes strength of both mind and character.

No matter what the circumstance, know that it is just Life trying to get you back on the right track. Adaptation is part of the process of achievement. It’s really no big deal anyway. Just as your eyes adapt to either light or dark, you must take your lemons and make some  lemonade.

Now I know what you’re thinking…

“But Anthony, you said there’s no such thing as failure.”

And really, there isn’t.

But for the sake of this article I’m going to refer to setbacks, the lessons that Life has to give you, as failure.

All it means is that you just didn’t hit your mark this time around.

“And this is a gift?” you say…

Absolutely! Let’s take a closer look.

Anything and everything that happens on your journey happens for a reason.

Whether it’s to catapult you to your achievement, keep you on track toward your achievement or to get you back on track to your achievement.

And that’s what failing is all about.

I failed probably more than anyone I know.

But that’s what’s made me who I am today.

It’s also what’s given me the “gifts” that I needed to help change the lives of so many people I have come in contact with in my Life.

My perfect gift.

It took me around 15 years to finally get my body back into the kind of shape that I had been striving for after my devastating back injury in 1994. This was the injury where, after my second surgery, doctors told me I would never be able to train again.

15 long years!

15 years of blood, sweat, tears and a whole lot of failure.

Believe me when I tell you, I failed many, many, many times.

And there were many, many, many times that I wanted to quit.

And many times I even tried to quit.

But that’s not who I am.

All I know how to do I keep going.

So keep on going I did.

And I learned from my experience.

And although I didn’t see it this way at the time, it was a gift.

By constantly experiencing failure after failure I learned what not to do so then I could finally learn what to do.

And through all of this I was able to devise a training program that would eventually alleviate my back problems and allow me to get into the best shape of my life.

But there’s something even better to this experience though.

As another result of the experience, I was able to help others dealing with physical, mental and emotional limitations and not only get into the best shape of their lives, but also accomplish things that they never thought possible.

And this happed all through the result of my failures.

I became one of the top trainers around because I had something that nobody else had. I had the gift of failure. I was able to achieve success because of my experience of overcoming a serious adversity and learning from all of my failures.

By constantly learning what not to do I learned what to do and how to do it for maximum results.

This is something you can’t ever learn from a book. I know this for a fact.

This is why I consider any adversity or failure as a gift.

There is a seed in every struggle that has the potential to grow into a powerful Oak tree. As long as you persevere through your struggle and failures, you will experience an outcome well beyond anything you can imagine.

And that outcome will not only help you, but also help others to help themselves.

Remember, that which we give, we get. So find a way to serve others and you will experience wealth beyond your wildest imagination.

So the next time you fail at something, think of it as a gift.

And never, EVER give up.

Keep pushing ahead and persevere through your adversities no matter what the case or the cause.

Learn from your failures and then use your “Gifts” to help others.

Hoping and Praying.

Hoping and praying won’t take the extra weight off of your stomach.

Hoping and praying won’t put food on your table, clothes on your back and a roof over your head either.

Planning your work and working your plan does. It takes the ability to sit down, come up with a game plan and then take action on that plan to make things happen in your life.

Great things I might add.

I see too many people put way too much time into H&P every day and then see how much they lack the art of planning, taking action and the art of both determination and discipline.

And if your plans don’t work?

So what…

You just learned what not to do. That is a BIG accomplishment if you ask me.

The more time you learn what not to do, the closer you get to knowing what to do.

Remember, there are no mistakes, only results. Some results you want and some you don’t want. The key is to focus on the results of your actions and then make the necessary changes when you get the results you don’t want.

And if you get the results that you want?

Wash, rinse and repeat.

Now let’s talk about determination and discipline.

I know way too many people who give up way too easy.

And who am I to judge?

I used to be one of these people. That’s right, I used to quit when the going got rough instead of putting my head down and taking Life head on like a pit-bull.

Quitters never win. They just keep complaining how hard life is and making excuses on why they can’t do something.

But that’s not you. You’re better than that.

I know you are.

You have the strength of an army and the heart of a lion.

When Life seems to get a little rough you need to get going.

Find inspiration from within.

Then create a game plan and get going.

I mean really get going!

Attack Life like a pit-bull and don’t ever give up.

Quitters never win. Well, in my book they only win the best prize for biggest complainers.

Epictetus said it best when he stated: “First say to yourself what you would be; and then do what you have to do.”

There’s nothing to it but to do it!

Don’t you think it’s time to take responsibility for your life?

You, and only you, are responsible for everything that happens in your life. This means both the good and the bad. This also means that there is no one else on this planet who can take the blame for anything that happens whether in your relationships, business, finances or with your health.

I know that’s a hard one to swallow but it’s the truth.

Once you acknowledge that you are the master of your destiny, you can then set your sails to the high winds of success and create the life that you want.

Make better choices when choosing your mate.

Want more money?

Business opportunities are right there waiting for you but it is your responsibility to take both the risk and the action to make it happen.

Did I say risk?

Hey, it’s better to try and not make it then never to try at all. Believe me, you’ll feel much better if you do.

Sick and tired of being sick and tired?

Eating healthy foods and taking the time to exercise and meditate is a choice and it is your responsibility to making them all happen.

Still crying about not having any time?

Make time!

If your life is on the line I’m sure you’d do anything to make it happen.

I remember when a well respected bodybuilding coach I knew back when I was 20 said “when you think that you can’t do another rep just imaging someone holding a gun to your head and telling you to keep going or they’ll blow you head off. When your life is on the line I’m sure that you’ll be able to make it happen.”

That’s a pretty blunt way of looking at things but when you really think about it it’s the truth.

When it’s a life or death situation I’m sure you’ll have a sense of urgency for whatever you are doing and do whatever it takes.

In the end it’s all your mindset.

Think positive!

You are the BEST and there is no one that can stop you!

Once you take responsibility for your life and know that only you can make or break your success you will start focusing on the positive and make it happen.

Start attracting the things that you want instead of the things that you don’t want.

It’s your choice though, so start taking responsibility for your life and you will start seeing good things show up in your life in abundance.

“Yard by yard, life is hard. Inch by inch, it’s a cinch!”

I don’t know who first said that quote but those are definitely words to live by if you want to get to the top of your game and make your life a breeze. It seems as though so many people want that instant gratification as they try to leap their way to the top.

When you attempt the get ahead quick method, you will only find that the road that you have chosen is a Herculean one filled with the laborious grinding of your gears to no end.

Plain and simple, this is the hard way.

Stop trying to get to the top in a minute and a half.

You are not going to make a million dollars overnight because it just doesn’t happen that way. Nor are you going to become CEO of your company after only a week of working the manufacturing plant.

The only thing that you are accomplishing is making your life a chore.

Anyone that I know of who has become extremely successful at anything that they have done has definitely put in their time and have taken it one small and simple step after another.

Not jumps, leaps or hops.

Steps.

Small steps.

Simple steps.

One foot in front of the other steps.

Get the picture? You need to learn how to walk before you can ever even think of trying to run.

So stop and take a deep breath.  It’s going to happen but just not today.

Make a plan that you will follow consisting of small steps; one leading to another. Follow your plan to a “t” and then you can bank on the fact that your life will be a cakewalk and you will get farther than you ever anticipated.

Yes, it’s work. But you can choose to make your work easy or make it hard.

This is the most logical and practical way of accomplishing anything that you want to in life. It’s all about small easy steps. Did anyone ever run up Mount Everest? I don’t think so and you won’t get to the top of your own Mt. Everest if you try and do it that way either.

So follow a plan consisting of small simple steps such as those outlined in my goal setting template and you will be able to accomplish anything that your heart desires and make your life a snap.

What makes people happy?

You might think it’s money, fame, fortune or having the perfect relationship.

This is farthest from the truth.

These are only things that most people “think” will make them happy, not things that will truly have a positive effect on your outlook on life.

Money is great and we all need it for survival and to live a quality life. It is not the be-all-end-all of happiness though.

Neither is having the perfect relationship either.

This is probably one of the biggest misconceptions. You will never find true happiness in someone else.

So what really makes people happy?

Here’s a true fact: Happiness never comes from outside of you, it always comes from within.

Happiness is at your deepest core.

Happiness lies in your journey, not in any kind of destination.

Happiness is your journey.

It is providing another person with hope.

It’s making the world a better place because of something that you have said or done.

Giving to this world is the true secret of happiness.

Don’t postpone your happiness until you achieve a certain goal.

Be happy right here in this moment; right here, right now.

What makes people happy is already here. It’s YOU!

So just be happy!
