the secret movieIf you’re a big believer in the Law of Attraction like I am, I’m sure that by now you’ve probably seen The Secret movie. This was the over-dramatized 2006 blockbuster hit by Rhonda Byrne that positioned the Law of Attraction as a magical way to instantly attract anything you want into your life.

The problem with this is that the movie was simply a crafty marketing ploy by the author to manifest a little bit o’ money herself.

I’ll give Ms Byrne some credit for her creativity though. I mean, who wouldn’t take advantage of the opportunity to cash in on a regurgitated idea that has been around for 100’s if not 1,000’s of years…

Something “Good” Did Come Out of The Secret…

Now don’t get me wrong, I’m a firm believer that the Law of Attraction is very real and does have an important purpose in achieving your goals and dreams. It’s just that there are many important factors to the process of manifesting your desires that were blatantly misrepresented and many more that were missing from this movie.

As you can probably tell by now, I’m not a big fan of The Secret movie at all and I am more than happy to admit that I was a bit naïve back in 2006 when I fell for the “pipe dream” too.

But after years of studying the real principles of the Law of Attraction since then, I can definitely say that on the positive side, at least the movie did provide a means in which The Law of Attraction was brought to the attention of the general public.

So as a result, a large number of people in the world who would otherwise have never known about it have now been exposed and can learn the truth on their own.

So I guess I can say that at least some good came out of it…

Yes, the Law of Attraction is Real

The first thing that people need to know after watching The Secret is that there is hope because the Law of Attraction, as defined and represented as PART of one of the 12 Universal Laws, is real.

How real?

Well it’s as real as the Law of Gravity.

Since there are a few key factors that were left out that will help you to attract things into your life. In other words, The Secret gave you a brief overview of the Law of Attraction but never actually told you how to properly apply the law in your life.

And that’s crafty marketing for you… tell you “what” and not tell you exactly “how”.

So that’s the point of this article: to give you three things that you can actually do that will set  you on the right track and get you started in the right direction so you can start applying the Law of Attraction today and make it work for you.

So here you go…

1. Learn From the “Real” Masters

The first thing that you need to do (instead of fantasizing about a magic genie rising out of a lamp) after watching The Secret movie and getting a basic idea of what the Law of Attraction is about is to start researching works written by the great Masters of the law. These are predominantly works that were written in the early 1900s by such great authors as Wallace D Wattles, Charles F Haanel and my two favorites, James Allen and Neville Goddard.

Believe it or not, these early works will give you a MUCH BETTER understanding of how to truly apply The Law of Attraction in your life a whole lot better than The Secret movie or book ever could.

Now if you are looking for a step by step system from this era, probably one of the greatest courses that you can follow ever written on the Law of Attraction is a book titled The Master Key System written by Charles F Haanal.

The Master Key System is an easy to follow 24 part course that is an exact step-by-step process to achieving anything you want in your life through the process of belief and visualization.

Charles Haanel practiced what he preached, achieving a great level of success himself through following his own principles and manifestation techniques.

By studying the original masters of the Law, you will learn much more than any modern day Law of Attraction work could ever teach you.

2. Write Your Vision Down on Paper Daily

The next process that I want you to engage in will require a little bit of effort but will be well worth its weight in gold.

Literally!

If you are a coaching client of mine or you have followed one of my courses, you know that I don’t believe in setting traditional long term goals. Rather, I believe in creating a “Vision” which is what you want your life to look like in the future.

Now, one of the most powerful ways in which to manifest your Vision is to stay focused on it each and every day.

And the way that you can program your Vision to be hard-wired into your subconscious mind is to physically write this down every single day first thing in the morning when you start your day.

This is one of the best exercises for achievement that you can do that will set you up to conquer the day. It is also one of most powerful processes you can engage in to make your goals and dreams a reality.

Creating your Vision is actually the first step in the manifestation process. By writing things down, you actually are bringing your intentions into the physical plane where they can begin to manifest into your life. Writing down your goals and your desires will bring them to you much quicker than just visualization alone.

This process will so help you to become clear on your desires and intentions. The sad part is that most people are just too lazy to actually take the time to get a journal out and start writing down what they want in their life.

Once you start this process though you will be amazed at the results so get yourself a journal start writing down your Vision today.

3. Apply the Law of Action

The final process that I want to go over today and the one that actually will make your desires and intentions become reality is that of taking action. This is the part that most people miss and the biggest misconception from The Secret movie.

The Secret made it seem like all you need to do is think about what you want and then sit back and do absolutely nothing and it’s all going to magically come to you in some “easy and effortless” way.

But this is the biggest misconception about the Law of Attraction. You need to take action!

Remember that for every action there is an equal and opposite re-action. Therefore you need to actually DO SOMETHING in order for your manifestation to take place.

If it’s money that you want then you need to provide something of VALUE in which you will receive something of VALUE in return. You are never going to receive value if you don’t give it.

This is why it’s so important to study the 12 Universal laws as a whole. Once you study the 12 laws of the universe you will discover that the Law of Action is actually more important to attracting your desires into your life than the Law of Attraction itself.

Also remember that you will never ever get back in return anything greater than what you give. So if you simply wish for something and you don’t do anything about it, as in taking action, you are never going to get anything back to you in return.

Now if you say, set your intention and focus on your desires and then take action on those desires, then you’ll see those things easily come into your life. Effort equals value so if you are providing a great amount of effort you will get a great amount of value in return. So in essence the more you give the more you get.

Let me give you an example here:

If you want to become a millionaire, the money is not just going to come to you magically without any work.

You need to put forth the effort in creating a business structure that will provide a huge value to people and in return you will get that equal value back to you. So you can be rest assured that the million dollars isn’t going to magically show up in your mailbox the next day.

You need to work for it! Money is earned; the only people that make money work at the mint!

So I hope you got something beneficial out of this article. Just put these three processes into action and you could find yourself manifesting your intentions and desires more easily than you thought!
